Computer & Research Engineer | Building ANT R&D | Engineering solutions for everyday challenges
Hello there! I'm Charles Ekanem, a recent Computer Engineering Graduate from Nile University of Nigeria. I have interests in embedded systems, smart devices, machine learning and dataset creation/curation tailored to Nigerian contexts. I am also building ANT Research and Development Lab to promote indigenous and innovative tech research and development tools. I'm passionate about building smart systems that combine hardware innovation and software intelligence.
This is a classic 2-player game developed with the Waterfall software model. It implemented logic to allow turns and input validation and further employed the use of TKinter for GUI.
A Multi-Engine deepfake detection system built with 2 CNNs (Inception-ResNetv1 and EfficientNet-B0) and 2 Transformers (Swin and Vision) to detect facial manipulation in videos and images. Employed a Transfer Learning and Ensemble dataset approach.

Designed and programmed a 4WD Arduino-based robotic vehicle. Integrated Ultrasonic and Infrared sensors with basic NavLogic for autonomous navigation.
Enhanced speech clarity in Nigerian urban noise using a custom built CNN-BiLSTM-Attention-Residual (CBAR) Model. Developed a custom hybrid dataset with real world Nigerian urban noise (chatter, generator, traffic).
An ultrasonic sensor-based contactless smart waste bin using Arduino. Using an ultrasonic sensor for input and servo motor as actuator, the servo lifts the lid when an object is detected at a distance.
This is a broad research work comprising dataset capturing and curation, from scratch built VAE-GAN architecture and IoT assisted monitoring system for Talinum triangulare (Waterleaf). The VAE supports in improved stability whilst GAN helps in simulating high realistic images.
